I have a turbo 350 and I have my vacuum modulator hooked up to a t fitting with my brake booster and it runs fine there but I have had it hooked up in the past on the timed vacuum port which as soon as your open up the throttle it gets vacuum anyways and it worked just fine.
Ported vacuum advance adds a second acceleration timing curve to the engine, That's not correct. Ported and Manifold vacuum sources are the same curve when the engine is accelerating. to help make ultra lean combustion more complete, at the cost of efficiency, cooling and fuel economy.
